Robert H.  Ray, 80, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.  He was born July 12, 1939 to Calvin and Lois Creech Ray and lived in this area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from The Cloister Resort and Hotel on Sea Island as food service manager after 30 years of service. He was employed with R & R Construction Company, Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro and Santa Maria Restaurant in Glennville for many years.  He loved to be outdoors and camping with his family and was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He is a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Janice Ray Knight.

He is survived by, Spouse, Felicia Colson Ray of Hazlehurst, GA

Children, Lynn Reid (Clifton) of Ludowici, GA

Bobby Ray of Kershaw, South Carolina

Bryan Colson of Hazlehurst, GA

Deannah Colson of Hazlehurst, GA

Brothers, Raymond Ray (Debra) of Brunswick, GA

Dewayne Ray of Glennville, GA

Brother in law, Jerry Knight (Shera) of Glennville, GA

Eight Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm Thursday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville is in charge of the arrangements.
