****PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*****
Due to COVID-19 the following precautions and suggestions are being implemented by Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville, Georgia.
In light of the recent Coronavirus and suggestions from the CDC, National Funeral Directors Association and Georgia Funeral Directors Association, we at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home have an obligation to serve and protect our families and community.
At this time there has been no mandate regarding Funerals or Visitation only suggestions to limiting crowds and social distancing. The CDC suggests that funerals can still take place under social distancing and crowd limits. For funerals taking place, they suggested limiting attendance to select family and livestreaming the service for those who cannot attend; services could also be recorded and the video shared with whomever the family deems appropriate. They further advised that those who are ill and are at-risk (e.g., elderly, immune-compromised) should be encouraged to stay home. Funeral homes should also urge attendees to follow recommended healthy habits such as social distancing, hand hygiene, covering cough and sneezes, etc.
With those suggestions being passed down, with our upcoming services please be aware that we have and are implementing sanitation and disinfection procedures. There will be hand sanitizer and hand washing stations available throughout the building. We ask that you limit your visit, and respect the family’s personal space when or if you decide to attend a services. Please limit your hand shaking, hugs and etc as you enter our facilities out of respect to the families and to our staff. We also ask that if you have been exposed to sickness or are sick with any type of cold, flu or etc to not attend services.
We as funeral directors and funeral professionals are on the list as critical infrastructure preferred providers and workers as deemed by Homeland Security. This is a vital role we play in responding to COVID-19 as we continue a normal work schedule, we will be able to serve you if our services are needed in this stressful and difficult time. But, we also want to protect our families and community. We hope that you are understanding as we are considering the community’s well being and for going our own as we continue to do our jobs with the guidelines passed down to us. We will continue to update our guidelines as we are instructed on further actions from the CDC, Government and our National and State Funeral Agencies.
You may reach us 24/7 at (912)-654-2060 with any questions or concerns, we are here to help in any way possible.
