Ruby Jo Durrence

Ruby Jo Durrence, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 93 under the care of Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 16, 1931, to Jesse Carl and Martha Jo Barber Durrence in Glennville, GA, Ruby Jo spent her life in the community she cherished.

As a devoted homemaker, Ruby Jo's proudest accomplishments were her family, whom she treasured immensely. She was known for her generous spirit and her love for entertaining, often inviting friends and loved ones into her home to share in laughter and joy. Ruby Jo had a deep passion for gardening, enjoying the beauty of flowers that reflected her vibrant personality.

An avid sports enthusiast, she was especially fond of the Atlanta Braves, following them with unwavering loyalty. Ruby Jo's dedication extended beyond her family and interests; she was an active member of Hopewell Church.

Ruby Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William F. Durrence and siblings, LP Durrence, Annette Oliver, Edith Waters, Wynell Durrence, Mary Sue Dasher, Elton "Po Boy" Durrence.

She is survived by:

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
