Rufus Dasher

Rufus "R. L." Dasher, 83 passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was born January 1, 1934 to Carl and Dovie Dowdy Dasher and lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church where he served as a lay speaker, Sunday School Superintendent for 30 years and an adult and youth Sunday school teacher for over 40 years. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an Engineer and was an avid farmer. He loved history, traveling, fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Leighton Dasher.

Children: Don Dasher (Kim) of Millen
Dane Dasher (Sharon) of Glennville
Laura Grafe (Brian) of Fleetwood, PA
Sister: Carolyn DeLoach (Ned) of Glennville
Grandchildren: Dustin Dasher (Nicki) of Metter; Daniel Dasher (Ashley) of Glennville; Jennifer Bacon (Brad) of Glennville; Brandi Dasher of Seale, AL; Ian Grafe of Fleetwood, PA; Will Dasher of Millen; Leah Grafe of Fleetwood, PA; and Beth Dasher of Millen.
Eight Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
` Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at Harmony United Methodist Church with Rev. Ramon Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
