Rufus Edwards

Rufus "Dub" L. Edwards, 72 passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center. He was self employed as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of the Alee Shrine Temple and the Oriental Band for over 40 years. He was a member of the Philadelphia Lodge #73 and a lifelong founding member of the Tattnall County Shrine Club. He also served in Georgia National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Barney Edwards and Doris Knight Edwards; brothers, William Barney Edwards, Jr., and Bobby Gene Edwards; and a sister, Sandra Faye Edwards. He is survived by: Sons, Kenny (Angie) Edwards, Gene (Julie) Edwards all of Glennville; Daughters, Karen (Ronnie) Brannen of St. Simons Island, Christie Edwards of Thomasville;
Siblings, Charlotte (Richard) Webb of Hinesville, Gail (Jerry) Dasher of Glennville, Carolyn Edwards of Dahlonega, Wanda Swindell, Susan Groover, Charles Edwards, Patsy (Danny) Holiday, Debra (Mike) Moody all of Glennville; Eight Grandchildren, One Great-Grandchild, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Sands Field Cemetery in Evans County with full Masonic Rites. Pallbearers: Kenny Edwards, Gene Edwards, Seth Edwards, Ronnie Brannen, Zach Scurry, Ty Swindell.
