Rufus “R.L.” Love, 74, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. He was born in Glennville, Georgia November 17, 1946 to Joseph and Lelia Kicklighter Love and lived here all of his life. R.L. was a US Army Veteran and retired from the Georgia National Guard as Sergeant First Class and MATES at Ft. Stewart, serving a tour in Germany. He had a good sense of humor and loved to be outdoors, fish and garden but his favorite hobby was making homemade wine. R.L. was a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and attended Northside Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patsy Bacon; brothers, Ernie Love and Marvin Love.

Special friend, Sandy Ray, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, May 3, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, May 3, 2021 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers: Chris Love, Brad Love, Hunter Kicklighter, Mark Kicklighter, Ray Wallace, Lee Bacon, Scott Rogers, Leslie Bacon, Brian Lugo, Rashad Hannah.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Georgia Army National Guard that served with R.L.
