Runette Rooks Woodcock

Metter/Statesboro- Mrs. Runette Rooks Woodcock 87, died Thursday at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. The Candler County native has lived in Statesboro for the last 33 years. She worked for Metter Manufacturing for many years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and flower gardening, laughing and "cutting up" with her children. She attended Open Door Worship Center in Metter. She is predeceased by her husband J.C. Woodcock, parents John Marshall and Pheriba Brown Rooks; 5 sisters, and 1 brother.

She is survived by her children; James Thomas ‘Woody" (Joyce) Woodcock, of Metter; Tony Woodcock, of Statesboro, Terry (Cindy) Woodcock, of Cookeville, Tennessee; Gail (Clyde) Thompson of Statesboro; Rebecca Christopher of Baxter, Tennessee; brother John Marshall (Joyce) Rooks, of Augusta; and sister Louise Sutton of Valdosta. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 13, 2015 5:00pm-7:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00pm, at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes with Pastor Ray Woodcock officiating.

Burial will be at the Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Candler County.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Harrison, Dwight Thompson, Galen Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Matt Thompson, Michael Thompson, Anthony Woodcock, and Cody Woodcock.
