Saralyn Oliver Flournoy, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro, GA. She was born on May 23, 1939 and was the only child of Jack and Annette Durrence Oliver, of Mendes, GA. Saralyn was a member of Harmony Church and was a 1956 graduate of Glennville High School. Shortly after graduation, she married the “love of her life” Victor Flournoy on September 2, 1956 and they were married for 64 years. They had one son, Vic (Quinn) Flournoy and two grandsons, Zach (Chloe) and Cade Flournoy.
Saralyn loved to cook and work in her yard, and spend time at their coast home at Half Moon Marina. She had a successful Civil Service career spanning 30 years, serving as a Military Occupational Skills, Test Control Officer, where she worked in this capacity at three locations: Ft. Stewart, GA, Fulda, Germany, and Schofield Barracks, HI.
Saralyn is preceded in death by: her husband, Victor Flournoy and her parents, Jack and Annette Oliver.
Visitation will begin at 11:00, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
