Veda S. Martin, 86, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Long County native had lived in this area all of her life. She was employed at Claxton Manufacturing, TAM Industries and IGA. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Edward Geiger and Clayton Martin; daughter, Regina Blocker; Sister, Vera Strickland; brother, Clyde Swindell.
Survivors include:
Daughter:Ruth Ann (Elton) Foster of Glennville
Sons: William Martin & Howard (Pat) Martin, both of Glennville
Grandsons:Danny Foster, Randy Foster, Derek Martin, Jimmy Miller, Cale Blocker
Granddaughter:Wendy Floyd
Great-Grandsons:Justin, Trevor, Baylee, Colby, Gabriel
Great-Granddaughter:Danielle Long
Great-Great Grandsons:Jadan Knight & Miles Foster
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2012 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 10, 2012 from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pigot Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
