Verna Ray Lamb, 79, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at her residence.
Verna Elizabeth Ray Lamb was born March 6, 1941. She graduated from Glennville High School in 1959 and moved to Savannah to begin a career in finance and banking. In 1961 she returned to Glennville to marry her life’s love, Mike Lamb.
Her years of banking were more of a favorite past time and less a career because of her desire to help people. Her favorite hobby, in her own words has always been reading. She enjoyed walks and runs all around their family farm. She instilled in her husband, children and grandchildren a love of gardening. Her daylilies and plants are scattered throughout the south with her friends and family. When she married she admitted that she didn’t know how to cook but it did not take her long to learn. For many years to come she was known for a table full of food, friends and hospitality. She loved all things beautiful but she loved people the most. In her later years she collected memories and shared them as her legacy.
