Vidalia - Mr. Wade Mett Williams, 71, died Sunday evening at the Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a Cobbtown native and resident of the Bethany Nursing Home for the past eleven years. He loved country western music, The Grand Ole Opry and attended Connor's Baptist church in Cobbtown.
He was predeceased by his parents Woodrow and Roxie Collins Williams of Cobbtown. Surviving are his sister Linda W. (Elton) Sharpe of Vidalia, one nephew; Darrell (Christy) Sharpe of Alston, one niece; Susan Horne of Vidalia, a special aunt; Evelyn Woods of Vidalia. Several Aunts and cousins also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. at the Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia with visitation one hour prior to service. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Connor's Baptist Church cemetery near Cobbtown. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6 until 8 p.m. at Kennedy-Morgan-Brannen Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.
