Walter Ray

Walter Doyle Ray, 77, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was born in Glennville, July 16, 1940 to Ellis B. and Jewell Clary Ray and lived in Glennville all of his life. He was retired as the owner and operator of Ray's roofing. Doyle was an avid fisherman that loved to spend time at the lake and coast. He was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Ray Wells and brothers, Wilton Ray and Hugh Ray.

Grandchildren, Ashley (Demere) NeSmith, Michael Brannen, Kaitlyn Ray, Megan Ray

Great Grandson, Chevy NeSmith

Visitation will begin at 1:30 Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ray and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Church Cemetery.
