Walter Smith

August 31, 1937 — November 25, 2019

Walter B. Smith, 82, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 31, 1937 to Hoke and Alice VonBergen Smith and lived in Evans County most of his life. Walter was a US Navy veteran, a mason with the Claxton Lodge #335, a member of the Tattnall County Shrine Club and a member of the Tattnall Invincibles, Camp 154, Sons of Confederate Veterans.  He was retired from Rotary Corporation after 42 years of service and a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by:

Wife, Carolyn G. Smith of Bellville

Children, Karen Blocker (Bobby) of Glennville
Connie Barnett (Scott) of Bellville
Randy Smith (Pam) of Bellville

Brothers, Jerry Smith (Shirley) of Bellville
William Smith (Shirley) of Bellville

Grandchildren, Brian Blocker (Kirstie), Justin Smith (Alison),
Byron Barnett (Deidre), Nathan Smith, Melissa Lee (Stanton),
Rebekah Langreck (Paul), Aimee Wasson (Michael)

Twelve Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin 9:30 am, Friday, November 29, 2019 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, Friday, November 29, 2019 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Trinity Church of the Nazaerne Cemetery.
