Wendell Shay

Wendell Patterson Shay, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City, Florida. He was born April 16, 1938 to Johnnie Edward and Cora Lou Patterson Shay and was a graduate of Lakeland High School. Wendell was a veteran of the Navy and the National Guard and a retired firefighter and security guard with Green Leaf Golf & Tennis Resort. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by:
Wife, Carolyn Shay of Lake City, Florida
Children, Terry Shay (Lisa) of Lake City, Florida
Mike Shay ( Jo Lynn) of Glennville, Georgia
Nancy Jordan (Phillip) of Orange Park, Florida
Brother, Willard Shay (Wanda) of Vero Beach, Florida
Ten Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, May 21, 2018 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
