William Flury

Glennville,
William Bryant "Bill" Flury, 72, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was born on October 29, 1946 in Soperton, Georgia to Sylvia and William B. Flury. Bill was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and served in the Vietnam War where he was the recipient of numerous awards to include, A Purple Heart, Vietnamese Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Presidential Unit Citation. While serving his country, in 1970 Bill moved to Tattnall County and in 1972 married Francine Todd. He retired from the Department of Corrections at Georgia State Prison in 1989 and was a deacon and member of Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He leaves precious memories to, his wife, Fran Flury; two sons, Arie Bryant Flury and Shannon P. Flury, all of Glennville; three grandchildren, Aubrey Flury, Ariel Flury Anderson (Ben) and Scott Flury; two precious great grandchildren, Macie and MaKensley Anderson. He is also survived by, one brother, Ricky Flury (Erin) of Glennville and sister-in-law, Robin Todd Cope (Jason) of Glennville, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will begin 6:00 pm, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
