William Ferrell Forsyth, Jr., affectionately known as Bill, passed away on July 21, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. He was born in Macon, Georgia, on January 20, 1936, to William and Ethel Feagin Forsyth.
Bill led a remarkable life filled with dedication and service to his country. He proudly served in the US Navy before embarking on a career that spanned several decades. Bill retired from Tampa Electric and Power after 43 years of service. His commitment to public service was also evident during his tenure with the Hillsborough Sheriff's Department for 10 years and the Tattnall County Sheriff's Department for 5 years. Additionally, he spent several years working with NeSmith Chevrolet.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Bill was deeply involved in various organizations that reflected his values and interests. He was a member of American Legion Post 95 and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He was also a member of Glennville Free Will Baptist Church and currently attended Anchor Pointe Church.
In his community and church, Bill was recognized as a father figure—someone who offered guidance, support, and wisdom to those around him. His impact reached far and wide, touching the lives of many who looked up to him for leadership and compassion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather.
Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, hard work, and kindness that will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and neighbors.

Children, Thomas F. Forsyth of Lakeland, Florida
Michael Shane Forsyth of Tampa, Florida
William S. Forsyth (Traci) of Tampa, Florida
Corey E. McCord (April) of Statesboro, Georgia
Grandchildren, Brandon Forsyth, Joshua McCord, Jacob McCord and Elizabeth McCord
Several cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
