W.M. Bird, Sr.

Metter- W.M. "Buddy" Bird, Sr. 88, of Metter died early Sunday morning at Candler County Hospital. The Candler County native has lived in Metter all his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. As a lifelong farmer, he was still very active on his farm raising cattle. He was predeceased by his parents Noah and Henrietta Bird, Wife Ruby Bird, Sons W.M. Bird, Jr. and Archie Bird, and Grandson Asa Blitchington.

Mr. Bird is survived by Daughters Mina (David) Blitchington of Roswell, Ga. and Mary (David) Parsons of Atlanta, Ga. Sister Jeanette Glass. Eight Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00-10:30am at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 10:30, and will be conducted from the Chapel of the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Cool Spring Baptist Church in the Aline Community.
